Dr. Leonard Schwartzbaum was a well known Family Practitioner in Sarasota for many years. He was the founder of Family Practice Associates, one of the most successful Family Practice groups in Sarasota.

He merged the practice with First Physicians Group and practiced as a member of First Physicians Group for many years.  For the last years of his active medical practice, he was associated with Intercoastal Medical Group.

Unfortunately, Dr. Schwartzbaum contracted Lewy Body Dementia.  He bravely fought this disease for ten years until he passed away on August 11, 2018.  Dr. Schwartzbaum was an extremely compassionate and caring physician who enjoyed treating geriatric patients.  He was an inspiration to all who knew him for his friendly manner, kind heart and wonderful generosity to the Sarasota community.

Dr. Schwartzbaum was a member and loyal supporter of Chabad of Sarasota. It is with great pleasure that Chabad honors Dr. Schwartzbaum by naming our annual Geriatric Compassionate Care Symposium for him.
